Henry Dobson, PhD
Henry Dobson is the Principal Consultant at Proethical AI. Henry holds a PhD in AI Ethics from The University of Melbourne. His academic research focuses on applied and professional ethics and, more specifically, how AI ethics principles, e.g. privacy, transparency, accountability, etc., are defined and used within the technology industry and by governments as the focal-points for achieving safe and responsible AI development. He advises technology companies on the tools, methods, and strategies that can be used for implementing or “operationalising” AI ethics principles within the design and development of AI technology.
Henry is also an award-winning entrepreneur, having been a past winner of the Young ICT Leaders’ Forum run by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the technology agency of the United Nations. He has worked in the technology industry across the UK, Europe and Australia, and has been a mentor with the ITU, tech2impact, and Monash University, assisting start-ups and innovative organisations with building web and mobile applications.
